Our very own resident, Bindy Bitterman, is doing her part to bring joy to those in isolation during Covid-19.

She is featured in The Honeycomb Project’s latest campaign.

“What makes the holidays so special are the people we spend them with. And while we may not all be able to convene in-person this year, you’ve enabled Honeycomb families to discover new ways to spread love to others. Many seniors face extreme isolation during Covid-19. With your help, we created a new Senior Pen Pal Program. Dozens of volunteers like the Cahill Family stepped up to send letters, share stories, and make hand-made art to bring joy to home-bound elders.

“I don’t know how you did it, but you couldn’t have made a better match… I hit the jackpot and I think my pen pal feels the same way…”

– Bindy Bitterman, Senior Pen Pal

Over several months, the Cahill Family built a deep friendship with Bindy, an 89-year-old resident at Admiral on the Lake. Children Max, Logan, and Mason eagerly awaited Bindy’s weekly letters in which she shared limericks and taught them about verse poetry. This holiday season, the boys returned the favor by mailing Bindy a printed book of her work with their own illustrations. Can we count on you this year?
