What Does Lifelong Learning Mean to You?

University of Chicago & The Graham School
Toni and the Lifelong Learning Committee started a partnership with the University of Chicago’s Graham School of Continuing Liberal and Professional Studies. They requested a list of current course offerings that could be converted into seminars. They surveyed residents to find out which courses would interest them, and the learning began.
The data shows a deep interest in being connected to new information and experiences. A survey in 2017 among Americans over 65 showed the following:
Knowledge as a Habit
The Admiral regularly hosts speakers from a broad range of sources and backgrounds.
They have included the Oriental Institute, the Field Museum, the Lincoln Park Zoo and the Adler Planetarium, as well as two programs on classical music with the former president of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Our Great Courses program is a runaway success. Topics range from Optimizing Brain Fitness, A Skeptic’s Guide to American History, World’s Greatest Geological Wonders to German Opera History.
Together we’re inspired to continue learning and growing while we share new experiences.
