March 30, 2017—The Admiral at the Lake and its residents figure prominently in three articles published in the “Decisions” section of this week’s Crain’s Chicago Business.
“The lack of stress here is wonderful,” resident Phil Hoffman says in an article titled “Plan Now for Long-Term Care.” “Living here is a gift to your children.”
In a companion article titled “New Senior Wellness Approach Boosts Happiness,” Admiral resident Sue Peverly explains how working with an on-site trainer helped increase her strength and improve her balance in preparation for 14-day cruise on the Baltic Sea. “It gave me confidence,” Sue told the reporter. “No falls.”
The third article, “New Retirement Communities Go Upscale,” notes that The Admiral has five outdoor terraces and that the sixth-floor terrace “has sweeping 180-degree views of Lake Michigan and Lake Shore Drive as it curves downtown.” Mark Fisher, an attorney whose parents moved to The Admiral about three ago, describes their apartment as “gorgeous.”
“The Admiral is like an upscale cruise ship,” Mark says, and then adds, “It’s not really about the building …. The most important thing is the community.”
